I’m back! In fact, I’m not only back I’m new and improved! After having my gallbladder removed (and now being able to eat again, yay) I’ve mostly recovered and finally getting back into the swing of things.

I’ve been busy during my time off- I’ve asked some friends and colleagues to get on board with our website so you’ll hopefully be seeing some great new articles coming up from various industry gurus. I’ve also had some fun ideas for articles so as of November well be running a monthly ‘Food Spotlight’, highlighting some yummy, healthy foods- some better known than others.

Its time to admit that even the natural Aussie mum finds it hard to be natural all the time! feeling tired and overwhelmed can be just a part of parenting at times… More so when dealing with a medical condition as many people are. I had the added fun of not being able to eat very much at all for some months, so cooking became a real chore! Lately we’ve been using more packaged foods, snacks and treats (I confess I’ve used junk food to lure Master 2 into the car as he hates it, and I’m not allowed to lift him up… ). I’ve set the following goals for Us over the next few months:
1. Back to scratch lunches: I’m going to make up some more muffins/quiches/snacks for school and day care lunch boxes
2. Proper Dinner: no more shortcuts! I’m going to go back to making dinner every night, or having something easy ready to go in the freezer. I’m going to cut back on portions though as I need to eat tiny meals and don’t want to over feed the rest of the family as a result!
3. Taking care of mum: this has always been a stumbling block for me and a lot of other mums. I’m pledging to make my own lunch daily, and start walking again!

I’ll start posting up some of my favorite recipes now I can eat what I cook again and I’ll keep you up to date on our progress. Wish us luck and please share your tips to help us on our way!

Do you have a few goals that need setting? Don’t procrastinate, start with me NOW! Feel free to tell us about your goal in the comments or link to your blog if you have one!
